Great, quiet washer

After reading countless reviews of different brands and models I settled on LG wm4000hwa. It replaces a 11 year old Maytag that still worked, but figured it would eventually have issues & parts would be hard to come by. So enter LG. So far it's quiet & gets a FULL load done in 29 minutes with the Turbo wash activated. That is automatic in most cycles. It does have a slight "hum" from time to time during cycles, but nothing loud. No issues with spinning, leaving water in drum After completing cycle, or getting off balance. There have been some that mentioned that , but I have not encountered that. Clothes are really spun dry & are pretty stuck to the drum, but easy to remove. Give them a shake, put in dryer & no wrinkles. Cycle modifiers are available on many of the pre set's, but some can't be done unless you change the type of cycle. The full manual that it came does a very good job of explaining all that, so read it. Any other ? Can easily be found on the web. I haven't used the wifi, as I really don't need that. I got this model for the Turbo wash feature. Being notified on my smartphone about it wash process is not important for me. And I have a different dryer so it wouldn't communicate with it anyway. Now for the information panel. It's not back-lit but it doesn't take long to figure out the options & modifiers. If you touch it , it does cycle with a light showing you what modifiers you are selecting. IE: you touch the water temperature to cycle through the tap cold, warm & hot & etc. It then lites up to the 1 you want for that cycle which will differ from the pre program cycle you choose, IF that modifier is available for that cycle. So, in conclusion- this is so far a very nice washer with many features & I got it on a black Friday sale that is going on at most big box stores, local appliance stores & at LG website also. They price match. It's way faster than my old front loader, gets clothes clean, spins well & fast washes. My on recommendation would be that the entire panel be back-lit so you could easily see all the choices for modifiers. Am happy with the purchase. Never had LG before, but no complaints here. High Consumer reports, so went for it.

Outstanding washing machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this washer last month and have been very pleased with its smooth and quite operations. The indicators are very easy to read and adjustments are pretty easy to be made to the selected cycle.

Pleased with the washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this washer to replace a 13 year old LG front loader that had died. Overall I am pleased with the washer. I didn't give it 5 stars because it could use an internal drum light. Also, it would be nice if the download cycle option in the ThinQ app would allow me to create a custom cycle instead of just downloading from a predefined list of cycles.

Worst front load washer I have ever used.

Tries to wash your nice big load in a teacup of water, then rinse it in even less water. Ridiculous. I sometimes have to restart the load 3 times just to get enough water in the unit to get everything wet so it can wash. Then I have to run it through an extra rinse in order to get all the soap out of the clothes. No way you can just set it up and let it run. You have to sit and fix things every step of the way--huge time waste. I think Thin Q stands for thin IQ (low intelligence). This is not my first front load machine so I know what I am doing. I am not overloading the washer nor am I using too much soap, and I don't have soft water. I don't have the money to trash this washer and get a new one so I just continue to suffer using it. I have no idea how it got such high ratings, especially by Consumer Reports. Someone wasn't paying attention!

Makes washing fun again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washing machine a little over a month ago and am glad I did. This is a smart washer and it tells me when my laundry is done. I don’t have to keep checking to see if the laundry is done. It makes doing laundry fun.

Simply Fantastic!

This is my first LG Appliance and I have to say, I am very happy with this new Wash Machine! It simply is amazing, uses very little detergent and the clothes come out very clean and spotless! It is easy to use and even easier when using the App! LG provides very helpful tips on the different wash circles. An excellent product that I highly recommend!

Water extraction issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this over a month ago and notice that on all settings with the exception of the Highest Spin level or the Sanitary wash cycle, my clothes retain more water than they did with my old LG front load washing machine. I had to replace my 2013 LG front load washer recently and I purchased the equivalent model LG front load washer and am noticing this less than satisfactory issue with water extraction.

Not as advertised or shown in LG photos

Look at LG's photo on its website of the back of the washer showing how the drain hose wraps all around the back. This tells you that the drain hose is long enough to reach a drain on the left or the right of the washer. Then look at my photo of what we got with our new WM4000HBA washer. This is what you will get. The drain hose is so short that it cannot reach a drain to the left side of the washer. Then ask your dealer for a drain hose extension and you will be told that LG does not make an extension and does not sell a longer drain hose and that you have to solve this problem on your own. Since we can't even use the machine, we can't give it a rating of good or bad. I can only say this is not what is advertised and it shows very poor engineering and customer service by LG.

Amazing Washing Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washing machine to replace my previous LG washing machine that was ~15 years old but still working. The Consumer Reports review for this washing machine and the LG deal was too good to say no. Anyways, I’m extremely happy with this upgrade! It’s quieter, more efficient by adjusting time based off load size, also love how the machine updates my LG app and Alexa. No more constantly checking on progress or leaving clothes in the washing machine (mold!!!). Highly recommend

Works Great

Purchased to replace our 15-year-old LG that finally gave out. Love this washer and the way it varies the time needed for cleaning depending upon load size. Using less detergent than previous washer and clothes are looking cleaner Don't find the wi-fi to be of much value though
