I would recommend this salt, it helps remove the rust that the water in our area has. Sinks, shower and washing machine don't have that orange color that comes with rust in the water. If we run out of rust removal salt we can tell right away, when orange is showing in sinks and shower. For this reason I am putting Morton, rust removal softener salt, on auto delivery, so we never run out.

If you live in an area like mine, this is not optional. It is mandatory. After ruining my 1st water softener 20 years ago with only 5ish years of service, my plumber showed and explained the problem to me and told me to always use a red out or rust out salt. I'm happy to say this salt has kept my softener clean and working with normal maintenance. Although I do also clean the resin with a red out res cleaner, it alone couldn't keep my softener working the last 2 decades. Can not recommend it highly enough when needed

Can not recommend it highly enough when needed

We have well water and a water softener however the water is still rusty. We love Morton Rust Pellets because they keep our water free from rust. I don't have to clean the showers, toilets and sinks as often and our whites remain white much longer. Better than that I don't have to load it in my car, Walmart delivers! Love it!

Walmart Delivers Salt! Great purchase!

This has helped keep my white kitchen sink , the toilet bowls and tub free from the iron stains. Also have noticed less sulphuric smell when water is in use and didn't notice that till I switched to this clean %26 protect

The local hardware store stopped selling this, luckily Walmart has it! This is a great price for this!!! This is the best water conditioner salt on the market. It's big pieces, not powder.

Great price for great product!

I have well water and have used the cheaper versions in my water softener for the last 6 years, bought this once because it was convenient to have it delivered from Walmart. What a difference it made! my skin is softer; my hair is softer and my water tastes wonderful and feels cleaner! I will be buying this from now on. It's worth the extra couple of dollars!

Best Water Pellets ever!

Not much to say about water softener pellets...you only notice them when they aren't doing their job properly. I've been using Morton brand enhanced (i.e. Rust Defense) pellets for 20ish years. Have never had an issue with them. They have always worked well with my Culligan softening system. Walmart has the best available price. Beats the other big box stores by a couple of bucks per bag.

Does the job. Walmart has the best price.

This is the best item for use in our water softener. 40 lb bags are manageable for me to carry. Wife and I are disabled. Paulette our delivery person even took them from her vehicle into the garage and down the stairs into the cellar! I definitely hope to have her again for delivery!

These water softener pellets work very well and dissolve evenly without leaving a lot of buildup in the brine tank. My water feels noticeably softer, and the added rust defense is helpful for protecting fixtures and appliances. The bag is easy to handle, and the product offers good value for the price. I would purchase it again.

The product is good, HOWEVER, I keep getting bags with holes in them which leak salt all over as I try to move them. This salt also corrodes the insides of the softener. The manufacturer of the softener says to ONLY use it under an equal amount of regular softener salt./

Packaging suboptimal; product corrodes softener

morton clean and protect with rust defense water softener pellets 44 lb bag, front-facing retail pack with Morton logo and 'Clean and Protect' label; green and navy design highlights '5-in-1 benefits' icons for improved water taste, extends appliance life, less buildup, softer skin & hair, easier cleaning and shows a glass of water; often used for softening household supply lines in high-iron areas or for regenerating home water softeners.
