Nice television replacing an older non-smart television. Being a senior, I found it very easy to setup, create an acct with Samsung, and the remote is much more user friendly than many smart tv remotes I've seen. The only complaint I would make, is the legs of the tv were a bit frustrating to install and they don't screw in tightly. Otherwise, a very satisfied customer.

Great tv for the price.  Incredible picture quality and comes preloaded with most of today's top apps already installed.  One downfall is that ya can't install Fox News Channel for some reason on this Tv.

Cool TV for lame guy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture quality is solid for the price on this 40" FHD Smart TV, and it works fine for basic viewing. I gave it 4 stars overall because it's a good value, but there are some frustrating usability issues.
The TV often takes time to respond to the remote, which makes navigation feel sluggish. The home page is overly complicated with too many options and menus, and since I mainly just use YouTube for streaming, it takes about 5 steps every single time to get from the home screen to launching YouTube. I wish the TV was smarter; it should learn from frequent use and automatically customize the menu to make it more user-friendly by prioritizing apps I actually watch.
The sound is also a bit lower than usual compared to other TVs we've had. We just have to turn the volume up higher than normal to hear clearly, which isn't a huge deal but noticeable.
Overall it's a good entry-level smart TV if you're not expecting premium speed or simplicity, but Samsung could definitely improve the interface intelligence and responsiveness for a better everyday experience.

Decent budget TV but needs smarter interface

I don't have internet  and last smart tv I could by pass the internet and use antenna.  I had to buy an analog digital converter to get signal.  I liked the sound choices on the old tv but this on only has standard and ampify not movie, music or clear voice.  I want I simple dumb tv but in todays world I don't think I will  get one .

Made for internet and streaming

One of the slowest electronic devices I've ever used. I push a button and it takes a 3-5 seconds for the TV to respond. 
It constantly has a G490 in the upper right corner of the screen. I assume it is a error code but cannot find anything about it.
Giving a 2-star only because the picture is pretty good and, although the apps are slow, they do work.
Very disappointed.

Would not recommend

Ended up gifting away per basic performance issues. The struggles getting the TV to respond to the remote  (with fresh batteries). Turning it on was very lethargic, many times I would press the power button twice thinking I did not press it correctly, would end up shutting it off on second press of power button. Raising the volume would require multiple remote presses to get it to show up on screen. Loading apps was just as bad, router was a few feet away. I get this is not loaded with bells and whistles, but basic functions should be something to work effortlessly...period!

Underachiever....

This TV is absolute garbage. Constantly freezes and restarts, or just freezes to the point you have to unplug/replug. If you click anything, good luck stepping back. You have to start over from the home button. Great price, but I would never recommend this headache.
