What isn’t good is being both of those things at the same time.&nbsp; As a Poet, you’d love to recite thoughtful prose like: The mighty Woolly Mammoth makes a mockery of my tiny hairless body. But as a Neanderthal, you’re only capable of saying:&nbsp; The most strong big thing with trunk and much hair make fun of my too-small bald bones and skin.&nbsp; The trouble for you is that as a Neanderthal, you don’t know any words that are more than one syllable. The trouble for your team is that they’re listening to a Neanderthal recite poetry… Poetry for Neanderthals® is a family-friendly party game similar to Taboo® where players earn points by getting their teammates to guess words and phrases. The catch is that they can only use single syllable words to give clues. If they use any words with more than one syllable, the other team gets to bop them with a 2-foot inflatable club (the NO! Stick). Basically, it’s a game that forces you to sound a little bit dumb. It’s a game of poetry. It’s poetry for neanderthals.

This is a fun game for at least 4 players.  It says 2 or more, but I do think it's a lot more fun with more players.  Once you get the hang of it, it provides lots of fun and laughter. It is now one of our go to games on game night.  I love that it's packed in a small box and it really makes you think!

Love the bat!

Our 13-year-old daughter brought this game to a sleepover with five of her friends, and she said they all absolutely loved it. They played for hours! All the girls are avid readers and really enjoyed the "Poetry for Neanderthals" part of the game, where you have to guess a word based on one-syllable clues. If someone guesses wrong, they get playfully whacked with the inflatable stick (included).

This fun and creative word game is made by Exploding Kittens, and the concept is simple: “Speak Good or Get Hit with Stick.” The game comes with playing cards, score trackers placemats, a sand timer, an inflatable club, and even a patch kit for any accidental damage.

Great for people that love word games!

Sat around the table with family playing this game and had just a side busting good time.  The concept of having to use one syllable words to try to describe a word for your team to guess correctly.  And the inflatable club bonking your opponents on the head for slipping up and using two syllable words or saying the word.  It's an incredibly fun game that I would highly recommend to anyone to play.

Hilariously fun game

This is a fun game for the family! My 11-year-old daughter and I played it and she was laughing so much! We’re looking forward to getting the rest of the family involved. She also agreed it would be a great game to play with their friends.

My 11 year old loves it!

This game was very fun to play. It takes getting used to at first.
 My kids were frustrated because they kept using two syllable words by accident causing them to lose more points than they were able to gain. The only negative thing is that my husband realized you can win by not saying anything and just letting the other team make multiple mistakes. I would suggest a penalty for not trying to play a certain amount of words per turn.

It seems so silly but it can be hard to limit to one syllable words - of course, everyone loves it when the club comes out!  Lots of laughs and congenial kidding.  So many games today involve so much strategy and one-up-man-ship that it was refreshing that this was just fun.

Fun game; simple enjoyment

Thought this would be a fun game to play on game night. The kids loved the no stick.  My youngest did not like the actual game at all just the no stick. My oldest loved it though. It was different. Not sure how much we will play it. But I would still recommend it.

Interesting Game

I received this game for free from Sam’s Club to review. This is a very fun game and the rules aren’t complicated. It says you can play with 2+ players but I don’t understand how you would do that since you need teams.  We played with two teams and 2 players on each. You have to get your team to say the word on your card using only 1 syllable words. If you use a word with more than one syllable the other team gets to hit you with the inflatable stick. It’s a fun game!

We received this very quick!  Kids were excited about the blow up club lol!  It’s a great game for anyone really and it’s fun to watch how people react when they can’t say a word and finding ways to explain things!

Fun time to pass in cold weather

This is an interesting game. Although listed as 2+ players, it really is much more fun with a large group of people. Great for traveling, as it is compact and very easy to set up. The game is listed for ages 7+, but many of the word cards seem like they would be quite difficult for that age group. It would be much better for an older crowd.
