Juanita's family hominy recipes only use the highest quality ingredients for an authentic flavor.

What is Hominy?

Hominy is a traditional authentic Mexican food made from kernels of corn. It is produced using a century old process called “nixtamalization.” This is the same process Mexican cooks have used to make corn for tamales and tortillas. This is a natural process where the corn is cooked using very minimal ingredients.

Hominy is a staple in Mexican cooking, often used in Mexican soups, stews, and other dishes.

About Juanita's Foods

We celebrate the culture and taste of Mexican cuisine in everything we do. Our authentic homemade flavors are the center of family memories created and shared around the many delicious and convenient options. This is Juanita's, and you are part of our family. When you join Juanita's family, you share in the tradition of preparing authentic Mexican meals that the whole family will love.

Mexican Style Hominy is an ingredient used in Slow Cooked Pork Pozole with Red Chile
Ingredients:

4 oz of dried chile (choose your favorite combination or mix all three, ancho, guajillo or arbol)

2 tablespoons of corn oil or canola oil

2 pounds of boneless pork shoulder, cut in large chunks

1 tablespoon oregano

2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons pepper

One 25 oz can of Juanita's Mexican Style Hominy, rinsed and drained (add a second can if you want extra hominy)

1 medium onion, diced

6 cloves of garlic, peeled

8 cups of water or chicken broth

Optional pozole toppings: lime, shredded cabbage, radish, avocado, onion, chile flakes, tortillas or tostadas

Directions:

Remove stems and seeds from chiles and place in a large bowl. Don't make the same mistake I did and not look at the ounces on this can. I looked at price and thought for around $4, this would have to be a 12 ounce can. I was wrong. This is the 110 ounce can. I have hominy for days, weeks even. Good thing it can be frozen. Used in Pozole and froze enough to make two more good-sized batches. Do I think this is a fair price for the money? YES, 110% I do.

A large can for low low cost

walmart.com

Never disappointed with this brand. Other brands after opening will have less. Juanita's is always mostly full.

Excellent price. Our poodle was great,,,,

I will forever use this hominy to make pozole, is always good and authentic. I really recommend this brand.

A great, great value for the money but you should look at the amount of each can and then the price. I’m sure there should be an adjustment on the part of Walmart. I received three cans each 110 ounces for 11.97.

Mexican hominy.

This was a real good deal price wise for this product? I just input couple cans extra by mistake but have use for all the ones I got?? Thanks for the price also a family member was surprised to see that I hit a deal?

I'm from Texas but have a pasole recipe passed down through generations of a Navajo family in Albuquerque. I stock up on Juanita's from Sam's because all of the other brands are subpar.

The Only. Canned Hominy Worthy of Pasole

Love this brand of hominy. Goes great in my pozole.

Not your fault my fault should have looked closed at size this thing is gigantic like the size of a gallon paint can.

Giant Hominy Can

I haven't tried this yet and guess I should check what I'm buying before pessing the 'add' button. I almost had a heart attack when I saw how big that can was!!!!!

I made a mistake by purchasing the 110 oz can-TOO MUCH
I like the 25 oz cans

Can Too big
