Pepperoni

Crust

Overall: 9/10

Crust: Thick, fluffy, and buttery inside, with a crispy, caramelized edge when baked properly.
Pepperoni: Excellent amount. It uses both traditional slices and diced pepperoni, so you get pepperoni in practically every bite.

Cheese: Plenty of mozzarella, especially around the edges where it gets browned and crispy.
Sauce: Bright and tangy, with enough flavor to balance the heavy cheese and pepperoni.
Portion: Very filling—the thick crust makes it substantially heavier than a typical frozen pizza.
Convenience: It comes in its own baking tray, which helps the crust cook properly.

One reviewer gave it 9/10 for taste and 9.5/10 for convenience, calling it an overall “must buy.”

The downside: It is definitely not a light pizza. It's high in calories and sodium, and some reviewers have found it greasy or overly doughy.

My take: If you love crispy cheese, lots of pepperoni, and a substantial Detroit-style crust, this is one of the more convincing frozen pizzas. It's very different from Chicago tavern-style or traditional Chicago deep dish, though—the crust is more like a thick, airy focaccia.

Excellent! Detroit-Style Deep Dish Pizza

This is the best frozen pizza we have ever had. The crust is crispy and the sauce and cheese taste just like a pizza place slice. The pepperoni is not overly spicy and just adds to the pizza without overpowering the taste. I give this pizza a 10 out of 10

Authentic Taste

The way to cook these is; Set oven to 400 F, cook for 10 minutes, then pull the pizza out of the oven and cut diagonally across the corners. This cuts across the center twice. Then put the pizza back in the oven for 20 minutes. Works every time.

Adjusted cooking method

I agree with other reviews that the instructions should be adjusted, but anyone with any common sense cooking knowledge would know how to adjust…
Suggests 425° 19-21min.
You could do 400° for 30min, a quick broil for the last couple minutes to bubble cheese, cover edges with foil, heat on pan or rack etc. adjust for your needs. Actual taste of crust and sauce was great, priced well too. No issues

Great!

We bought this twice. The first time it was so good that we went and got it again two weeks later. The second package we got, the taste was different but i have no idea why. It was ok, just not as good. We decided not to but it again for a while

Worth a try

I would have given 4-5 stars if it would have been cooked properly. I had to bake it an additional 10 minutes to get the cheese to melt in the center, but it burnt on the outside edges/bottom. I tried cooking the second at 400 for 25 minutes and then used the broiler to melt the remaining cheese and crisp up the pepperoni and it was significantly better.

Fix the Cooking Instructions!!

I followed the cooking instructions on the box but the cheese around the edges completely burnt while the center was very undercooked. Since there's two in a box I'll try cooking the second pizza at a lower temperature for a bit longer and see how it comes out. I don't love the flavor of the pepperoni but if it had cooked properly I might have given it a higher rating.

Underwhelming

Not very good but its a frozen pizza. What do you expect? The box is over sized leading you to believe they are larger than they are.

Just frozen pizza

terrible mess when opened the box; most ingredients were in the tray on the side not on the pizza; had to rebuild the pizza; followed directions some still not cooked in middle and burned on edges. very salty tasting. bring back DiGiorno deep dish so much better.

salty pizza in a box

I thought I was getting good pizza like the Motor City one which is a real treat but unfortunately this no knocktasst awful. I did have to cook it a little longer too but the sauce is lacking flavor and the cheese's bad the pepperonis are cheap too they do not taste as good as others I have had very disappointed definitely not worth the calories.

don't waste your time at the real thing
